Professional Bio
Staff Sergeant Santos, Alexander is a native of Cidra, Puerto Rico. He entered the military on 11 January 2013. He attended Basic Combat Training at Fort Sill, Oklahoma in Bravo, 1st Battalion, 19TH Field Artillery. He went to Fort Sill, and Advanced Individual Training to become MOS qualified as a 13B, Cannon Crew Member. Throughout his career, he has served as a Cannoneer, Ammunition Team Chief, Gunner, Section Chief, Gunnery Sergeant, Operation Sergeant and currently serves as a Drill Sergeant.
SSG Santos’ first duty assignment was at JBER (FT Richardson), Alaska (from 2013 to 2020), as a member of Alpha Battery, 2nd Battalion, 377th Parachute Field Artillery Regiment where he deployed to Afghanistan from September 2017 to August 2018 in support of Operation Freedom Sentinel. He served as a member of his Battery’s Quick Reaction Force, Artillery Support for 5th group Special Forces dismounted personnel, and as a Security Force attachment for Guardian Angel missions. In December 2020, he graduated from The United States Army Drill Sergeant Academy earning the Drill Sergeant Army Skill Identifier (8X).
SSG Santos is currently serving as a Senior Drill Sergeant for Bravo Battery, 1st Battalion, 19th Field Artillery at Fort Sill, Oklahoma.
