Professional Bio
His initial assignment was with 2-82 FA, 3d ABCT, 1st Cavalry Division at Fort Hood. He served as the Company Fire Support Officer for C/2-7 CAV, Platoon Leader and Executive Officer for B Battery, Service Battery Executive Officer and Battalion Ammunition Officer before moving to the Division Fire Support Element at DIVARTY Headquarters.
Following the FA Captain’s Career Course, LTC Stramaglia was assigned to the 75th FA Brigade, III Corps Artillery, at Fort Sill. He served as the Battalion Maintenance Officer and C Battery Commander in 6-27 FA, as the A/S3 for the 75th FA Brigade, and deployed to Iraq twice, with the 75th FA Brigade (further assigned as the Assistant Brigade FSO for 3d ABCT, 1st Cavalry Division) and the 212th FA Brigade (as Brigade A/S3).
LTC Stramaglia joined the NJ Army National Guard in 2006, and was assigned to 3-112 FA, serving as the S1 and A/S3. In 2008 he deployed with the 50th IBCT Headquarters as the Assistant Chief of Staff for the Joint Area Support Group mission in Baghdad. Following the deployment, he returned to 3-112 FA as the Battalion S3, and then as the Battalion Executive Officer. In 2015, he was assigned to the Joint Training and Training Development Center at Fort Dix as the Director of Simulations.
LTC Stramaglia commanded 3-112 FA from 2016 to 2019. He has since served as the 44th IBCT’s Rear Detachment Commander, and then as the Executive Officer.
LTC Stramaglia’s military education includes the FA Officer Basic and Captain’s Career Courses, the Combined Arms and Services Staff School, the Command and General Staff Officer’s Course, and the Advanced Operations Course.
