Catherine Grizzle

After graduating from FABOLC, CPT Grizzle was assigned to A/1-37 AR (Fort Bliss, TX) as a Fire Support Officer (FSO).
Following her service as FSO, CPT Grizzle was assigned to C/4-27 FA where she served as a Fire Direction Officer, Platoon Leader, and Executive Officer (XO). As XO, CPT Grizzle deployed as the acting Battery Commander to Take Force Spartan, Al Taqqadum, Iraq in support of Operation Inherent Resolve. After departing Iraq, she served as 4-27 FAR’s BN S-4 in Kuwait in support of Operation Spartan Shield.
Following her time at 4-27 FAR, CPT Grizzle attended FACCC and was then commandant-select to 1-30 FAR to be a Gunnery Instructor for FABOLC.
Following her service as an instructor, CPT Grizzle was selected as the Battery Commander of Alpha Battery, 2d BN, 2d FAR. While in command, CPT Grizzle was selected as one of two U.S. Army Military Mentors for the 60th Annual United States Senate Youth Program Washington Week and was among the top 5 TRADOC Commanders nominated for the General Douglas MacArthur Leadership Award.
CPT Grizzle holds a B.A., Cum Laude, in Political Science – National Security from Virginia Polytechnic Institute and State University and a M.B.A. from University of North Carolina Kenan-Flagler Business School. Her awards include the Meritorious Service Medal, Army Commendation Medal (3 OLC), Army Achievement Medal (3 OLC), Army Meritorious Unit Citation, Army Superior Unit Award, National Defense Service Medal, Inherent Resolve Campaign Medal, Global War on Terrorism Expeditionary Medal, Global War on Terrorism Service Medal, Army Service Ribbon, Army Overseas Service Ribbon, and the Basic Army Instructor Badge.
CPT Grizzle’s currently stationed in Washington D.C. attending Advanced Civil Schooling at George Washington University in preparation for instructing at USMA’s Department of Behavioral Sciences and Leadership.
