Professional Bio

Garrett Bailey is a native of Statesboro, GA. He earned his Bachelor’s Degree in Communications from Georgia Southern University and commissioned as a Second Lieutenant in 2007 branched Field Artillery. CPT Bailey earned a Master’s of Communication from the University of Oklahoma in 2015. Garrett's military education includes: Field Artillery Officers Basic Course (2007), Bradley Infantry Fighting Vehicle Commander's Course (2011), Field Artillery Captains Career Course (2012), Commander's / 1SG Pre-Command Course (2014), Observer Controller Academy (2016), Joint Firepower Course (2017), Master Resiliency Trainer Course (2019) and Command and Staff College (2021).

Garrett’s assignments include: Battery Fire Direction Officer for 1-10 FA, 3rd BDE, 3ID, Fort Benning, GA (2008-2010). Motorized Rifle Platoon Leader for 1-10 FA, 3rd BDE, 3ID, FOB Delta, Iraq (2010). 155 Self Propelled Platoon Leader for 1-10 FA, 3rd BDE, 3ID, Fort Benning, GA (2010). Troop Fire Support Officer for 3-1 CAV, 3rd BDE, 3ID, Fort Benning, GA (2010-2011). Battalion Assistant S3 for 1-17 FA, 75th FiB, Fort Sill, OK (2012). Liaison Officer for Headquarters, 75th FiB, Camp Redleg, UAE (2012-2013). Battalion Assistant S3 for 2-18 FA, 75th FA BDE, Fort Sill, OK (2013-2014). Battery Commander for Fox Battery, 1-40th FA (2014-2016). Currently is serving as an Observer Controller/Trainer in 2-307 FA in Camp Atterbury, IN.

Garrett's awards and decorations include: Meritorious Service Medal (2), Bronze Star Medal, Army Commendation Medal, Army Achievement Medal (5), National Defense Service Medal, Iraqi Campaign Medal (with two campaign stars), Global War on Terrorism Expeditionary Medal, Global War on Terrorism Service Medal, Military Outstanding Volunteer Service Medal, Army Service Ribbon, Overseas Service Ribbon (numeral 2), Meritorious Unit Citation, the Honorable Order of Saint Barbara, and Norwegian Foot March Medal.
