Professional Bio
2004: I joined the US Army Active Duty and completed OSUT at Fort Sill, OK. I also was able to witness a "CS Gas Round" that I learned later was the XM1063.
2006: After being stationed in Baumholder, Germany with the 4-27FA, I deployed to Iraq as part of the Brigade Fires Cell.
2007: Late in the year, I re-enlisted and PCS'd to Fort Riley, Kansas where I was part of the 2/70th that quickly reflagged to the 1-63rd CAB. I deployed twice more to Iraq and once to Djibouti, Africa.
2014: I ETS'd from Active Duty Army.
2017: I enlisted into the Wisconsin Army National Guard to return as a 13F. I was assigned to the 120th FA until 2023. During my time there, I applied the FOPCSim to train 13Fs, as well as developed a "FO Knowledge" study guide (This was approved of for 120th training). I also created the "120th Red Artillery Cord" program that was a written exam of necessary knowledge for FISTers and a number of graded missions to prove application of knowledge.
March 2024 I requested a transfer to the 157th MEB where I operated at the Brigade Fires Cell. I have currently adapted the miniTSFO call for fire simulator (thanks to help from retired Col. Bill Erwin) to be used on a mobile app for training 13Fs and have currently been approved to create a 157th Red Artillery Cord Program similar to the one I designed in the 120th FA.
I try my best to keep up to date with artillery, mortars and rocket capabilities. I am proud of the Field Artillery Corps and while I have great respect for CAS, UAV and AAH abilities from my JFO qualifications, I still remain in strong support of Artillery and my belief it will still be one of the greatest and most reliable assets on the battlefield.
